I grew up with a single mother in a neighborhood without a golf course. I wasn't even aware of golf or the experiences and opportunities the game could open up.
I founded Palmer Youth Golf Association to introduce young people to possibilities they may not yet see. Through golf, I want them to build self-esteem, integrity, discipline, and the confidence to connect with people from different backgrounds. My hope is that they gain access to new experiences and relationships that help them pursue success in life.
To introduce young people to golf and use the game to build confidence, integrity, character, and skills that support success in life.
Palmer Youth Golf Association provides golf instruction, player development, training, and tournament access for underserved youth ages 7–18 in Houston and surrounding communities. Through educational and charitable programs, the Association uses golf to develop self-esteem, integrity, discipline, communication, and networking skills, and provides scholarships to eligible high school students pursuing higher education.
PYGA programs
Ages 7–18
PYGA's Golf Training Program gives underserved youth ages 7–18 in Houston and surrounding communities opportunities to learn and grow through golf. Participants receive instruction and player development support, along with access to training and tournaments.
Through the game, PYGA aims to help young people build their skills, confidence, discipline, and connection to positive mentors.
High school seniors
PYGA's Scholarship Program supports eligible high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college or university. The program recognizes the importance of helping young people continue their education and pursue their goals beyond high school.
